Betty Chisolm Hutzler

In 1912, speeding north on a crowded delta train, Jackie's family escapes the perlis of their former Mississippi home.  On the journey, a recurring dark dream invades her psyche striking fear into her heart.  While traveling overland by wagon, her father is attacked by a highwayman and is forced to kill or be killed.  Arriving at their final destination, the family settles into an idyllic life, but gradually learns that Jackie's paralyzing recurring nigthmare of the savage man who runs with wolves may be a frightening reality.  They discover that many people have vanished without a trace on the Lepanto Road.  Terror grips the family.  Is this vicious killer really in their very midst?
